Aluminum Case
This case was designed with the goal of occupying the least amount of desk space while also housing a large radiator. The case was designed by me in fall 2015, then manufactured out of sheet aluminum by Protocase. I began with two sheets of metal for the design, but the cost was too high. I went with a simpler design with an acrylic window. The part I recieved from Protocase was very high quality and met all of my dimensions. The design had several setbacks, beginning with a faulty PCIe extender. I placed the pump at the bottom to prevent damage from leaks, and the power supply at the top, creating a very top-heavy design. I 3D printed the support brackets for the graphics card, pump, and reservoir. Aesthetically, the computer looked great, and displayed my parts very well. If I were to design it again, I would redo the pump/PSU placement, and add either a wall-mount or struts to make the case more stable.
